The Tenement receives the IT Award for Outstanding Original Short Script

2010 NY Innovative Theatre Awards

I am happy to announce that I received the 2010 IT Award for Outstanding Original Short Script for The Tenement. It was a unique project to receive this award in that the script contains no dialogue. There are unique challenges to be met when trying to carry an audience though a clear and dynamic story without being able to speak to them directly. On this project I was heavily influenced by the non-dialogue work of Jerry Mouawad and Carol Triffle of Imago Theatre and also by many Hollywood silent films, especially those of Charlie Chaplain.
